I worked at Hope Haven in 1979-80 when Brother Harold was there. I knew about one boy complaining of sexual abuse. Harold had adolescent boys always following him around and we thot the boy got mad at him for denying a favor and reported him. We never knew what was going on. My own teen stepdaughter who visited said she loved Brother Harold. (I just told her lucky she wasn’t a boy) All we heard was the he was gone, shipped off somewhere else. Someone said Texas.

    Dear Who It may concern,
in the traditional Church, es. Pope Pius XII or before and later, not to mention Bonifacius VIII, all these events were usually covered up to defend the institution. Now pope Francis is doing a lot to pursue these facts, but he does it with the necessary pace, not to impact in facts like the one happened to card. Pell who was unjustly accused for other reasons. What stands beyond and behind a public announcement like this, that seems perfect, word by word?

    Holy Father,

I am not naive to think that there are evil people in the world, but not within your Holy Church. Some bad apples are expected, but the cover up and deceit used by the Archdiocese of New Orleans is despicable and criminal. My most important question to you, Holy Father, is this: How many priests have been prosecuted in the New Orleans Archdiocese over the past 75 years?

    Survivingly,

Release the secret archives in New Orleans. Let’s see how many allegations were made from 1950-2020, with no criminal prosecutions noted. Only this will let the people know how deep the corruption and criminal behavior goes, of not only the church, but civil and criminal authorities as well.

I was groomed and eventually abused by Fr. Carl Davidson during my high years at St. John Prep. I buried the memories and told no one until 2 years ago. The shame, fear, and silence that I carried for 35 years was unbearable. I now have a network and family of survivors thru SNAP that have helped me to not feel like a unicorn anymore. I wasn’t the only one. I’m not alone. I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m committed to advocate for little Kevin and every child, adolescent, and vulnerable adult who had to suffer in silence. No more!
